To enroll in the Iron Workers Local 704 Apprenticeship Program, an applicant must first complete a T.A.B.E. ( TENNESSEE ADULT BASIC EDUCATION) Test, which is given every tuesday @ 9:00 am, at the Chattanooga Career Center. Located in the East Gate Town Center@ 5600 Brainard Rd. Chatt. TN.
Applicants should recieve close to a 9th grade level score in reading and math. All others will considered with working experience.
If you do not have a High School Diploma, and you wish to earn your high school equivalency diploma , you should contact; Re:Start- The center for Adult Education to enroll in the GED Program. Re:Start is located at 1501 Riverside Drive, Suite 260 Chattanooga TN. 37406. This is a Free Program for those wishing to earn their high school equivalency diploma.

- Have earned a high school diploma or GED
- Be a resident of Ironworkers' Union Local 704 jurisdictional area
- Must be eligible to work in the United States of America
- Submit current drug screening
- Must have a current Drivers Licence & Social Security card.
- Have the physical ability to preform the tasks of the Trade as described in the US Department of Labor's Dictionary of Occupational Titles
- Submit a copy of the applicants birth cirtificate
